So that I have a clear idea of how I want the website accompanying my fashion magazine to look, I have made flat plans of the homepage and single post page.
Although simple with merely the basic layout, links, fonts and colours shown, the flat plans will be a good reference point when it comes to actually creating the website.
Putting my ideas into a form of draft like this means that I should finish with the desired result!
Homepage:
Single Post:
The above flat plans are obviously minimalist as that is all that can really be achieved with the planning method, but also because the website itself should be minimalist. Of course, more colour will feature on the actual homepage and single post page as the images will be responsible for providing this, but the monochromatic colour scheme evident in the flat plans is also a key part of my fashion magazine's branding, making it simple, sleek and 'culturally sophisticated'. The black, white and grey also allows the website to be updateable, with seasonal colour variations put in place. The overall layout of both pages is easy to navigate, not including too much. The homepage link, menu, social media links, subscription link and essential website links/information are constantly present as this is the case with most websites accompanying fashion magazines, and all the aspects are important for the audience's experience of the website. The fonts featured on the website are the same fonts as those featured in my fashion magazine so there is a strong sense of branding across both products, particularly with the masthead/homepage link. In addition, adverts separate the homepage into sections and multiple subject stories are evident to show variety. The vlog is the focus of the single post page and sharing links are noticeable and easily accessible.
